2020-2021 Plaza PTA Officers
KELLY HILL
President
Hello and welcome to Plaza! My name is Kelly Hill and it is my pleasure to serve as the Plaza PTA President for the 2020-2021 school year. My son, Chayce is in the 4th grade and we love being a part of this Baldwin community. As we move into new territory with in-person and remote learning, our PTA is committed to support all our families, teachers and staff to ensure our children have the best learning experience and that we provide opportunities to engage with out community. We hope that you will join us as member of the Plaza PTA, because we can do more together; because we are Plaza Strong!
JUDY MATTHEWS
VP of Membership
My name is Judith Matthews, and I am honored to be your Membership Chair for the 2020-2021 school year. I have been a part of the Baldwin community for over 5 years, and the proud mother of two children, a fifth grader and a second grader attending Plaza Elementary School. I am a Licensed School Counselor and a Mental Health Counselor with over 20 years of experience working with the New York City Department of Education.
When people hear “Parent Teacher Association’’ (PTA), they often assume a small group of parents, working on behalf of a specific group of children. My primary objective as your Chair will be to work on eliminating that perception. Another objective has to do with growing our membership. PTA is all of us: parents, guardians, educators, any individuals active in the school community. There are many benefits to being a PTA member. It keeps us connected in knowing what is happening in the school community; it allows us to build and maintain relationships not just with each other, but with the community as a whole; it also provides opportunities to assist the principal, teachers and other school personnel in shaping the way for student success and development.
I am pleased to be a part of this process, and I am looking forward to our work together for a successful school year.
NANCY ANTOINE

Ways & Means
Hello and welcome to the Plaza family! My name is Sara Jamison and I proudly represent you and your family on this years’ PTA executive board as VP of Ways and Means for the 2020-2021 school year. I have two children; Faye who is in second grade and Charlie who is Kindergarten. I take pride in holding as active of a role as I can in our community. I myself attended Plaza School, my husband and I both graduated from Baldwin Senior High School, stayed here to raise our beautiful and chaotic family, and I even work in Baldwin School District! This community and its experiences, opportunities and diversity are what every family should have access to. Never hesitate to ask me a question, get involved or just flash a smile back in the courtyard or at one of Plaza’s famous functions!
With the tireless teamwork among PTA, the amazing teachers, staff and administration here at Plaza, I know we will make this new and uncharted post-quarantine, post-Netflix-binging transition a memorable one for our children in the best way possible!
Here’s to Plaza school… where learning takes off!
